As we’ve moved our clocks forward and the sunny weather warms the extending days, the nation is preparing itself for a new cricket season.
And everyone at “the Lakers” is no different. The Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club is excited to have cricket back.
The Lakers are getting training under COVIDSAFE provisions and have now held a ‘come and try’ session for our Woolworths Cricket Blasters (5yos-10yos).
Last Saturday resulted in just over 50 Blasters train in groups of 10 spread out across Vic Park’s Stan Hargreaves Oval. The junior coaches ran various cricket drills and mini games.
A feature was ex-Pigeon football premiership coach, Drew Barnes, who was invited along to take some specialised motor skills development training and the kids loved it.
With the roadmap from COVID19 near the critical 80% double vax mark, we are all looking forward to the 5th of November when it’s likely the full return to community sport will occur. All cricketers, young and old, girls and boys can go online and register for all cricket programs. Go to www.play.cricket.com.au and enter your post code. This will bring up all the cricket options (by age) within the Yarrawonga-Mulwala district.
It’s going to be another big summer of cricket at “the Lakers”, so make sure you’re a part of the team. All further enquiries can be directed to the club via email: yarramulcc@ bigpond.com
See you at the cricket.
