Yarrawonga Chronicle

Life members awarded

-

Recently the unveiling of the long-awaited Yarrawonga and Border Agricultural and Pastoral Association (YBAPA) Inc Honour Board and two Life Membership badges were awarded.

YBAPA President John Wright spoke of the disappointment after the second year of the show being cancelled but it was wonderful for Life Members, current committee members, friends and family to get together.

Life Member Joan Thom spoke of the Yarrawonga Show which first ran in 1883 and its colourful history, which lead to a lot of storytelling and exchange of information later in the evening.

New Life Membership honours were presented by Club Mulwala CEO Alan Rowe to Sturt McPherson for all his work as our Sheep Chief Steward and Donna Knuckey with a long history as committee member, long-time Assistant Horse Ringmaster and since 2009 has been the Ring Master of the Show.

After another year of hard work with no show, Treasurer Liz Cook and Secretary Sue Jackson were presented with lovely flower arrangements in recognition of their work.

Never fear the committee will all be working hard to bring you a wonderful show the first Saturday of October 2022.

If you would like to join the committee and

see if you could also help in making a wonderful

show don’t hesitate to phone Sue on 0407
