MUSEUM
Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw would love it. The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto (the only museum of its kind in North America) is highlighting the work of one of the world’s best-known shoe designers. “Manolo Blahnik: The Art of Shoes” is open until 6 January 2019. “I’ve always been giving women empowerment,” Blahnik told CBC News. “Shoes make them powerful.” One of Blahnik’s most famous clients was Princess Diana; among the shoes on display are those he designed for Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film Marie Antoinette — the story of another royal who met a tragic end. www.batashoemuseum.ca display: be on ~ [di(splei] ausgestellt sein , empowerment: give sb. ~ [Im(pauement] jmdn. stärken , highlight sth.
