The num­ber of peo­ple trav­el­ling on Bri­tain’s pri­va­tized rail net­work has more than dou­bled since 1995, the last year the net­work was op­er­ated by Bri­tish Rail. There were 1.7 bil­lion pas­sen­ger jour­neys in 2016–17, com­pared to 735 mil­lion in 1994–95.

The num­ber of women lead­ing ma­jor US com­pa­nies has dropped by 25 per cent, ac­cord­ing to For­tune mag­a­zine’s 2018 list of top CEOS. There are now 24 fe­male chief ex­ec­u­tives, com­pared to 32 in 2017.
