I am using Ken Taylor’s English on the Move article about long-distance travel (Business Spotlight 4/2018) as a topic of discussion with our corporate clients. Not only is it a useful topic, there are also some hints for time management and organizing one’s agenda. But I wonder why Ken Taylor used the present perfect tense in this sentence: “This is the first time I have been on a long-distance trip...” Why didn’t he use the future or future perfect? Thank you for clearing this up for me and for writing great and useful articles! Bára Pruchová, Bratislava
