How do you say Gespräch in English?

When Gespräch refers to a Vorstellungsgespräch, it is translated as job interview, or simply interview: Ich freue mich auf das Vorstellungsgespräch. “I look forward to the interview.”

Gespräch can also mean meeting: Wir haben ein Gespräch mit dem Kunden. “We have a meeting with the client.”

When the word Gespräch is used in a more general sense, it is usually translated as conversation: Ich hatte ein langes Gespräch mit Sue. “I had a long conversation with Sue.”

In informal business situations, we often translate Gespräch as chat: Hast du Zeit für ein kurzes Gespräch? “Do you have time for a quick chat?”
