Many TV viewers watching the recent US Emmy Awards thought that Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby stole the show with her one-minute introduction to a directing prize. If that piqued your interest, you can see more of Gadsby in her stand-up show Nanette, which she performed for two years in Australia and at the Edinburgh International Festival. Now, Netflix has made it available as a one-hour programme. Gadsby talks about growing up gay in Tasmania, where homosexuality was a crime until 1997 — in her words, “not nearly long enough ago”. Nanette is funny, moving and angry. Watch it if you can.
