BREAK A LEG
Some verbs that describe actions that people generally do to themselves, such as “wash” or “shave”, are used intransitively in English. There are some activities involving body parts where German has an indirect reflexive pronoun and English a possessive determiner instead: I need to brush my teeth. (Ich muss mir die Zähne putzen.) I broke my leg skiing last year. (Ich habe mir das Bein beim Skilaufen im letzten Jahr gebrochen.)
