Flight announcements
At the gate
Gate attendant: Good afternoon. Flight CB105 to Frankfurt will begin boarding in approximately five minutes.
Mona: Gregory, that’s us. We’ll be boarding soon. Gregory: The flight will be leaving on time for a change!
Gate attendant: We will now begin boarding according to the group number printed on your boarding card. Please have your boarding card and passport ready.
Gregory: We are in group 5. It’s the last group, so you have time to finish your coffee.
Pre-flight announcement
Gregory: The flight’s not full, so it looks like we’ll have plenty of room.
Mona: I hope you don’t mind if I take the aisle seat.
Flight attendant: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome on board flight CB105 to Frankfurt. Please fasten your seat belts and secure all baggage underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartments. We also ask you to fold away the tray table, and put your seat in the upright position for takeoff.
Gregory: I’ll take the window seat. You can put your jacket on the middle seat if you want.
Mona: Thanks.
Flight attendant: Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones. Enjoy your flight.
Captain’s announcement
Captain: Good afternoon, passengers. This is your captain speaking. The weather looks good, and with the tailwind, we expect to land in Frankfurt ahead of schedule. Mona: Great. We should be through passport control and baggage reclaim by about 2.45.
Gregory: I’ll text Mike when we land to let him know we have arrived.
Captain: The local time in Frankfurt now is 1.15 p.m. With this clear weather, we should get a great view of the city as we descend. Gregory: The view is one reason I like flying into Frankfurt.
Mona: Maybe we should swap seats!
Captain: I’ll talk to you again before we reach our destination. Until then, sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of the flight.
Landing
Mona: That was a very smooth landing. Gregory: It was almost worth an applause! Flight
attendant: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Frankfurt. Please remain seated with your seat belts fastened until the captain has turned off the fasten-seat-belt sign. Gregory: I’ll get in touch with Mike now.
Mona: It’s kind of him to pick us up. Flight
attendant: Please be careful when opening the overhead lockers, as heavy articles may have shifted around during the flight.
Gregory: Have you got everything?
Mona: I just need to check the seat pockets. Flight
attendant: On behalf of the entire crew, we look forward to welcoming you on board again soon. Have a nice day.
