LOISIUM ACADEMY

-

EWe are family« – a simple but fitting motto that should go without saying in a company with a sense of appreciation for its staff. »The family-like environment is the main reason why people want to work at LOISIUM«, says Denise Smelter, who is in charge of HR development. Guests also become aware of the positive climate – and treat the employees accordingly. »The relationship between staff and guests is very friendly«, Smelter adds. Of course, this contributes to the atmosphere that guests of LOISIUM Wine & Spa Hotels appreciate so much. However, according to the HR manager, it also places a special responsibility on the staff: »The casual interaction with guests leaves a more lasting impression.« And with that comes greater responsibility.

SPREADING THE GOOD VIBES

For this reason, the »LOISIUM Academy« was created, an HR development concept aiming to spread the LOISIUM values to those who are not regularly in contact with guests. »We now have more hotels and more employees than ever«, says Anna Fischer who, as HR manager, is in charge of the LOISIUM Academy. »The goal is to choose one employee for each department in each hotel who completes the Academy training.« These LOISIANS then carry the spirit on to their departments. »They become role models and are available if there are uncertainties or a need for support.« This way, all LOISIUM employees are involved and the LOISIUM spirit goes viral. There are a total of 220 employees in the three hotels, plus 30 to 40 in administration and management. The LOISIUM Academy is for all of them – with the aim to make them stay. »People in the hotel industry often want to see the world,« Smelter explains. That’s why, many employees leave a company when they have only just begun to implement its spirit. »In many hotels, younger employees in particular stay with a company for one year at the most. At LOISIUM, they stay much longer. We are proud of our colleagues who have been with us from the very beginning,« says Smelter. The reason is, above all, an appreciative way of interaction that creates the good vibes guests come to appreciate. Challenge and encourage is the motto, because those who do a good job deserve respect. After all, »we are family!«
