The “La Gioia” collection by Pomellato
In its second exhibition in Haute Joaillerie, the Italian jeweller not only finds a proverbial link between past and future. A journey through time in two acts.
Young tradition
Bold shapes, colourful stones, and a contemporary attitude characterise the collection of the jewellery house founded in 1967 by Pino Rabolini. The flair of Milan has been captured in the form of classics such as the „Nudo“rings (recently expanded by the „Nudo Gelè“line with coloured, matt finish stones) or the „Fantina“series inspired by equestrian sports. While the brand, part of the luxury conglomerate Kering, can trace a rich tradition in fine jewellery, it was only in 2020 that it ventured into Haute Joaillerie. A story of success to which they have now added the next chapter.
First act
The recently presented „La Gioia“collection is divided into two parts, and both are intended to be „an introspective journey into the history and soul of Pomellato“, according to Creative Director Vincenzo Castaldo. In the first chapter, which consists of eleven unique pieces, is underlined the commitment to sustainability and vintage jewellery from 1990 to 2014 from the archive is combined and reinterpreted. Stylistically, the glamour of the 80s is revived.
Second act
Here we find the continuation of the homage to the history: chains and links, a defining style feature of the house from the beginning, are refined all over with diamonds and do not lose their modern spirit. In this way, the rich past meets a brilliant future.
