L’O: You and your co-founder Dr. Dominik Duscher, are specialists in the field of cell regeneration. Why did you decide to start your own skincare brand?
Dr. Dominik Thor: At the time, we were researching innovative ways to improve wound healing. Our goal was to actively support the functioning of our cells and their repair mechanisms. When we discovered the rejuvenating effect on the surrounding tissue, we realised that this discovery could be applied to skincare products.
L’O: Tomorrowlabs’ motto is “Science for your skin”. What is the philosophy behind the brand, and to what extent does Tomorrowlabs redefine skincare?
DT: Everyone knows that promises and reality often diverge in the cosmetics industry. Tomorrowlabs is therefore uncompromisingly committed to the idea of transferring scientific knowledge in the fields of biotechnology and regenerative medicine into products which actually deliver what they promise. We work together with leading universities, skin experts and top international laboratories to develop new solutions for the most common skin and hair problems. L’O: Tomorrowlabs products work on a cellular level, based on the latest scientific research. How can you describe their effect? DT: The HSF technology developed by Tomorrowlabs is a unique concept in cosmetics. The technology is based on the HIF protein, which is responsible for the renewal of our tissue. HSF stands for “HIF strengthening factor” and serves to reactivate the most important regeneration mechanism of the human cell. The discovery of HSF was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine due to its role as a stimulator of tissue renewal. HSF acts as a kind of protective shield for this regeneration process. Scientific studies show that it strengthens the skin barrier and rejuvenates the look of our skin and hair – a real game changer for significant results. In addition to a visible effect, best skin compatibility and easy application, the external control of our results is particularly important to us. This is why we carry out our research at prestigious universities and subsequently publish the results in leading medical journals and at scientific congresses. L’O: What future developments or advances can be expected from Tomorrowlabs in the field of skin & hair care following the implementation of HSF Cellular Rejuvenation Technology? DT: We are currently working on combining HSF with new active ingredients from longevity research, an exciting new field of regenerative medicine. Our aim here is to rejuvenate and reactivate the powerhouse of our cells, the mitochondria, as their function declines with age.
In this way, our body can maintain its radiant appearance in old age through sophisticated repair processes at the cellular level.
