Camille IN PARIS
Together with Westwing, and just in time for the premiere of the fourth season of “Emily in Paris”, we visited the home of one of the series’ main characters, Camille Razat. L’officiel Austria embarks upon a very private tour of her luxurious apartment in the French capital.
The actress, famous for her role as Camille in the Netflix television series “Emily in Paris”, is known for her refined, elegant, Parisian style. This refinement, is clearly evident within the interiors of her modern and elegant home.
Before becoming the actress’s home, this building in Paris lived several lives. There was a yarn factory, a brewery, and an architect’s house. This dwelling reflects Camille’s taste, who opted for an industrial-style loft. “When I first walked into this house, I immediately fell in love with it,” the actress revealed. The biggest challenge was to keep the industrial soul of the flat while at the same time trying to make it feel homely and cosy. “Finding the perfect balance is a delicate matter that involves several elements: the careful choice of materials, the definition of colours and the configuration of the unique living spaces present in the environment.”
The industrial staircase here is impressive in its size. “Another thing I love about the apartment is the staircase... It was one of the greatest elements that captivated me,” she says of the cement and metal staircase that connects the three floors. Today, this loft’s style can be defined as eclectic. Camille told us, “There’s a mix of industrial and second-hand pieces. I want my space to reflect my personality. I’m very attached to history and old objects, but I also like minimalist, industrial and raw design”.
The living room on the ground floor is at the centre of the open space. It is a space dedicated to relaxation, reading, music, art and video games: “I spend most of my time there. I also like to play chess or board games here,” admitted Camille. All decorative elements have been carefully selected; for example, the Togo sofas chosen to decorate and fill the space have both a modern and oldschool look; they are proof of the special attention to functionality, design and comfort that the actress values so much. The décor in Camille’s flat is a collection of memories and items with personal significance. “All the things I have collected while travelling or that my family gave me as gifts. For example, I have some egg-shaped lamps that my grandmother gave me,” the actress emphasised.
To decorate the space, Camille, using complementary styles, adds artwork and photographs to bring even more soulfulness and Parisian charm to the home.
