With 170 stylish rooms and suites, each exuding comfort and elegance, guests are immersed in the lap of luxury. The original building style, paying tribute to local traditions, can be seen throughout the hotel. The health-conscious design extends to antibacterial wooden floors of mountain larch, 100 % virgin wool carpets, and bed linen made from 100 % organic cotton and the finest linen. The use of bright, fresh colours in carpets, fabrics, and coverings creates a delightful contrast, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere. As an added luxury, guests benefit from the health-promoting properties of Swiss stone pine, known to affect positively indoor climates and promote restful sleep.
The lobby, which is an absolute highlight for children and adults alike, introduces guests to a unique feature – the hotel’s own Lipizzaner stud farm with a riding school. A panoramic window provides a captivating view of the riding arena and the majestic Lipizzaner horses.
The culinary journey at Stanglwirt is a treat for the senses. From the hotel restaurant serving delectable dishes sourced from the Stanglwirt organic farm to the Stangl-alm, a rustic inn, and traditional delights from their own farm, guests are treated to a gastronomic adventure.

Familial hospitality and deeply rooted, Austrian traditions are at the epicentre here: Alongside Balthasar and his wife, Magdalena, the Hauser siblings play pivotal roles in maintaining the legacy. Maria, the eldest daughter, focuses on the public image, interior design, and wellness areas. Elisabeth manages administration and human resources, in addition to overseeing the hotel’s riding stables and the breeding of Lipizzaner horses. Johannes, the youngest, manages the in-house farm, cheese dairy, and fishery, contributing to the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. Moreover, the Stanglwirt offers a diverse range of activities for all generations. Austria’s first private Lipizzaner stud farm and a children’s farm, complete with all-day supervision and a vibrant water world, making it an ideal destination for families. Founded in 1985, the hotel’s private Lipizzaner stud farm is Austria’s first and a renowned breeding centre. The 24 purebred “Kaiser horses” are under the care of Junior Boss Elisabeth Hauser-benz and her team. Riding lessons, suitable for beginners and advanced riders, are conducted under the guidance of specialists. Young guests, aged three to eight, can enjoy pony rides or leisurely strolls with the Lipizzaners. During summer, carriage rides provide an enchanting experience, while in winter, Tyrolean horses pull carriages through the snowy landscape. Last, but not least, we introduce our favourite area at the Stanglwirt, due mostly, to the mischievous and wildly entertaining bar manager, Bernd Staber: for those seeking a refreshing drink, the hotel bar “Auf der Tenne” offers a delightful array of drinks and cocktails with a direct view of the Lipizzaner riding arena. The former hayloft and granary have been transformed into intimate spaces, complete with old wood architecture and crackling open fires, creating an inviting ambience for guests to unwind.
