Style statements

- By Christoph Steiner

From strong silhouettes to brigth colors – the collections of the topical season have a lot to say! Luckily, it is a joyful message.

Signal effect

A powerful (over-)sign of life, as such the fall/ winter 2021/22 collections could be summarized in their entirety. Vivid colors, audacious styles, and expressive designs as far as the eye can see. After giving priority to function for too long, aesthetics are taking now over its place in the everyday wardrobe.

Classic example

A special attention deserves the latest collection by the fashion pioneers Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who have been working together for about a year and a half. While the visionary duo had to start their collaboration in the shadow of the pandemic, the creative cooperation began to blossom due to the positive developments. Optimism is the order of the day, and it runs through all 46 looks, as well as through the characteristic style elements, which are so typical of Prada. They dare to show glamour on the catwalk again and combine sequined dresses with knitted sweaters, scarfs made of faux fur or experiment with accessories in flashy colors.

Color psychology

The yellow stands out the most of the color palette. In the case of Prada, it strolls down the runway in the form of an oversize coat with dropped shoulders and puffed sleeves worn by model Hallie Hummer, while at Balmain and Coperni it brings turtlenecks into focus and at Andrew GN and Roland Mouret it freshens up cocktail wardrobes. This is appropriate, as the brightest of the primary colors stands for hope and optimism in color psychology. It would therefore be quite desirable, that this exact trend mutates into a classic.

?? ?? Strong signal: In color psychology, yellow stands for hope and optimism. At Prada, cutting and styling round off the overall positive impression.
