75 years of great taste
“Rampoldi” reclaims its place as Monaco’s most historic restaurant and continues the legacy it began in 1946. With 75 years of experience, they have made a commitment to put quality right over the top of its priorities. This year, October 16 takes on even greater significance than usual, as the restaurant will organise the ultimate celebration party for their guests and a limited edition “Book of Rampoldi” will be released.
The invisible presence of one of the most beautiful women of the 20th century, Princess Grace of Monaco, is felt in the halls of Monaco’s most historic restaurant, which began its legacy in 1946. In keeping with royal standards, “Rampoldi” made a commitment to put quality right over the top of its priorities. This year, October 16 takes on even greater significance than usual, as the restaurant will organise the ultimate celebration party for their guests and a limited edition “Book of Rampoldi” will be released. Established in 1946, “Rampoldi” quickly became the place to be, especially considering its key location right in the historic Carré d’or of Monte Carlo. Celebrities from all around the world would come to live the authentic Monegasque experience. With a bit of luck, nowadays you can still spot international celebrities and members of the royal family sitting at these tables to enjoy the legendary Dolce Vita, along with genuinely unforgettable dishes. The restaurant has always been widely sought-after for its prime location, unique ambiance, and authentic Mediterranean cuisine up until its closing seven years ago. Extensive renovations have than been carried out to adapt the restaurant’s style to modern times, all while maintaining its roots, core identity and charm. Almost miraculously, the restaurant’s new design succeeds to integrate its two souls into a single reality: it manages the balancing act between the future with an innovative look and the indispensable past, bearing the unmistakable charm of the old “Rampoldi.”
Chef Antonio Salvatore at the helm of Rampoldi
There was much anticipation when the restaurant re-opened in 2016 with a fresh outlook and an ambitious new chef at the helm, Antonio Salvatore. After honing his skills in some of the world’s most reputable restaurants, Antonio brought an innovative take on classic Mediterranean cuisine and conveyed “Rampoldi” into a unique Monegasque formula offering a perfect blend of both French and Italian flavours. To immerse yourself in the process of creating the dishes, you can watch the chef at work with his brigade through the glass window of the magnificent open kitchen: a unique interaction that the chef wanted to have with his diners.
The Michelin Guide recognition
“Rampoldi” is part of the Monte Carlo Hospitality Group, a collection of distinctive restaurants and
culinary experiences rooted in the warmth and excellence of Mediterranean cuisine and influenced by the time-honored history of luxury hospitality in Monaco.
The restaurant has now opened a new chapter in its glorious history, highlighted in 2021 by the mention in the Michelin Guide and the one Star awarded to “La Table d’antonio Salvatore au Rampoldi”. “La Table d’antonio” offers an exceptional, intimate, and prestigious setting that stands out from the rest. Previously, the place was dedicated entirely to the cigar afficionados, and the Jet Set liked to come here to meet and mingle. The originality of this place lies in the fact that the room is decorated with 140 magnificent wooden chests accessible by digital key, belonging to the members of the establishment and the Royal Grimaldi Family. For “La Table d’antonio”, the chef designed a highly creative Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that gently blends Italian and French. A cuisine of passion, with fresh products selected with care. Antonio surprises his guests with his ability to constantly seek excellence, both visually and in the taste of each plate. Originally from the south of Italy, he honors among other things the rich culinary accents of his country through creative, tasty, and colorful dishes.
