Benedict Cumberbatch, the man who plays Holmes on the British TV show Sherlock, is being called a hero for stopping a crime near the home of the fictional detective in Baker Street, London. Cumberbatch, 42, was in an Uber taxi with his wife, when he saw four people attacking a young man on a bicycle. His Uber driver, Manuel Dias, told The Sun that Cumberbatch got out of the taxi and fought off the four men. “He seemed to know exactly what he was doing,” the driver said. “He was very brave.”

Cumberbatch has played the title character in Sherlock since the series started in 2010. He is also in two new films, Mowgli (see page 46) and The Grinch, which are coming to cinemas this autumn.
