2. What happened next?

Ralph is telling his flatmate, Joseph, about the robbery he has witnessed.

Joseph: Where were you while all this was happening?

Ralph: I was in the back of the shop, trying to decide which beer to buy. They have an amazing selection of craft beers in there. But anyway, I managed to get my phone out and film what was going on.

Joseph: You did? That was quick thinking.

Ralph: Yeah, but I don’t know if it’s going to help much. They both had their faces covered. And I think the shop has CCTV anyway.

Joseph: Did someone call the police? Ralph: I did. And they came right

away. It took them only about two minutes. Everyone who was in the shop at the time was an eyewitness. We all had to make a statement.

Joseph: And how was the cashier? Ralph: Pretty shaken.
