I have been reading Spotlight for many years and I am happy every month when a new issue arrives. However, I always wonder why you still send it wrapped in plastic. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful idea to change this in the new year? According to the motto “avoid plastic”! Yours

Thank you for your question. Here is some feedback from our sales department:

“Bis vor einigen Monaten haben wir alle unsere Hefte in einer recyclingfähigen Folienverpackung als Schutz für die Hefte verschickt. Aufgrund vieler Kundenreklamationen und des starken Mediendrucks zum Thema Verpackungsmüll hat der Spotlight Verlag im Frühsommer entschieden, jegliche Art von Verpackungsmüll – auch in Form von Papier und Kartonagen – möglichst zu vermeiden.

Sofern die Kundin zu ihrem Magazin nicht noch weitere verlagseigene Zusatzprodukte, wie eine Audio-cd, eine Lehrerbeilage, ein

Booklet oder das Übungsheft Plus mitgeliefert bekommt, erfolgt die Adressierung immer direkt auf dem Magazin ohne Folienverpackung. Nur bei Versänden mit den Zusatzprodukten können wir leider auf die Verpackung nicht verzichten, da sonst die Sendung nicht vollständig beim Kunden ankommt. Wir verwenden aber in jedem Fall (wie auch schon früher) eine recyclingfähige Folienverpackung.”

Dear Ms Sharp and Ms Kuenzel

I have enjoyed reading Spotlight magazine for many years and Ms Kuenzel’s article in issue 1/20 regarding her experience with self-publishing aroused my interest more than ever; I felt as if I were sharing this event with her, because I myself had the same experience, also last year and also at Amazon. I understand so much her feeling of excitement of holding the first copy in her hands.

Reading Ms Kuenzel’s article, I was happy to find out that somebody I knew (if only from reading Spotlight) had done the same as me: figured out all details for her book and uploaded it on the internet. Thank you! Best regards
