Stanley Tucci has been in more than 80 films, many of them hits. Perhaps his biggest recent success, though, isn’t a new Hollywood blockbuster but an Instagram video. The video, which Tucci posted last year, shows him making a popular Italian cocktail called a Negroni. Perhaps because of his Italian heritage, as well as his charisma, the video went viral, getting more than a million views and making him a cult figure. Asked how he felt about this by The Daily Telegraph, Tucci said: “It makes me really happy. I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t.”

Born in Peekskill, New York, Tucci first acted at age 11, “and I knew it in a second. I felt more comfortable onstage than I did offstage,” he told The Guardian. “And I still feel that way. Who wants to spend their whole lives as themselves?... I don’t.” Tucci, now 60, studied acting at the State University of New York and appeared in his first film, Prizzi’s Honor, in 1985. He had small roles in numerous films, before writing and directing his own films and acting in blockbusters such as The Devil Wears Prada and The Hunger Games series. A food lover, he is now writing a food memoir and stars in a new film called Supernova, in which he plays a writer with dementia.
