AVATA is an art, fashion, and lifestyle platform creating artistic cyber collections, exhibitions, and art projects in collaboration with digital creators and brands. An eclectic wonderland of designers and artists from across the universe, a place to discover, collaborate and create. AVATA has curated this issue of WeAr with different digital artists to give an insight into the direction digital art is taking.

Digital artists are having their well-deserved moments in the spotlight. They are all using new technology to push their creative practice further and challenge the traditional boundaries of art and fashion. Many of such are focused on how art and fashion can become more sustainable and collaborative by using supportive programs to encourage new processes.

Artists present in this issue: Tookee (Greece) renders striking fashion-focused environments, and Mar Guixa (Spain) pushes digital technology to support a sustainable fashion industry. Gigi Gorlova (Dubai) designs playful concepts to pair digital art and wearables, JCabo (London) plays with brands, culture, and digital storytelling, and MaisonDAO creates immersive metaverses and cyber collections. Such examples are truly the tip of Web3.

AVATA, in collaboration with its roster of global artists and in-house designers, presented a digital sock collection as its frst step into the metaverse. Phygital socks come with both a physical item and a digital wearable; the collection is sold as an NFT on AVATA’s digital marketplace.
