TYLER SPANGLER

Tyler Spangler is a digital artist based in the United States. His work entails playing with color and animation and mixing perception with reality. Images are removed from their original background and inserted in almost hypnotical spaces. Bright colors meet black and white images, and the new meets the old-fashioned. Traditional photography is put in the context of new-age media by employing gifs and color. Spangler uses digital collages to mash up photography, color, and forms. His background influenced his art very much: after studying psychology, he attended the Art Center College of Design; however, he dropped out after a year. Also, he ran a punk venue for 13 shows until it eventually got shut down.
