ADRIANO GOLDSCHMIED
PRESIDENT, HOUSE OF GOLD
At the beginning, the focus was on garment finishing. The efficient introduction of lasers, ozone and nanotechnology made big improvements in sustainability. However, innovations quickly started spreading to all the other segments of denim production, starting with farming, moving to new fibers like Tencel and hemp, and including impressive innovations in our approach to creating the indigo dye and the way we dye the warps. Ultimately, the most important thing is this new sense of responsibility in the denim industry, which is very promising, and the big changes that have taken place between 2005 and today.
