This summer Azerbaijan's capital Baku will go down into the history of this prestigious race.

Azadliq Square, Neftchiler avenue, and Azneft Square and many other Baku streets will become the part of a unique race track, which as many experts say, differ from other Formula 1 tracks.

The symbol of the city -- Maiden Tower -- on the background of the fortress walls of the XII century on one side, and the azure waters of the Caspian Sea extending along the Boulevard on the other side - this the very panorama awaiting drivers and spectators of the competition.

In more than a month, Baku streets will be humming for noisy car engines. Nigar Arpadarai, Head of Marketing and Communications at Baku City Circuit, said that everything goes in accordance with schedule and part of the construction work has already been completed.

“Asphalt laying has been almost completed. Currently we work on stands installation. Some three stands have been already constructed in the capital. We plan to install Absheron stand in the near future,” she said.

Since the fastest part of the race will be on Neftchiler avenue, the most stands will be installed there.

Construction of 15,000 seats and 1,000 standing places is planned for the fans.

The organizers noted that the construction of the stands is expected to be completed by June 5, and they will try our work not to disturb traffic on the city’s streets.

Arpadarai said that the trend with ticket sale is quite positive.

“Tickets are bought mainly from abroad. As you know three world stars will perform as part of the Grand Prix and those who will have tickets will have a chance to attend the concerts. After announcement of the performers, demand for tickets both from abroad and Azerbaijan has increased,” she said.

Global music superstars including Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias and Pharrell Williams will entertain F1 fans in Baku during the race weekend.

Beginning on the evening of Friday June 17, each of these three global superstars will respectively take to the specially constructed Main Stage of the newest street circuit in F1 on a nightly basis.

More than 60 percent of tickets have been purchased by foreigners, mostly from European countries such as the UK, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia as well as Arab countries, according to Arpadarai.
