Azercell organizes free eye examinatio­n

Mobile Eye Clinic, one of the unique social projects conducted by Azercell Telecom, leading company of mobile market in Azerbaijan, has served thousands of children deprived of parental care, as well as the elderly and low-income families.

In April the doctors of Mobile Eye Clinic serving children deprived of parental care, low-income families, refugees and IDPs examined people over 50 with the organizati­on of Caspian Compassion Project. The Clinic served low-income families and children deprived of parental care, as well as refugees and IDPs residing in Lokbatan, Buzovna, Pirallahı, Mardakan, Bakıkhanov, Garachukhu­r and Gunashli settlement­s. With the organizati­onal support by local executive authoritie­s, 244 people were examined; out of which 96 were assigned eyeglass prescripti­on and 124 people were prescribed a course of treatment by the doctors. The doctors also had a successful surgery on 5 low-income patients who suffered from serious diseases. After the surgery the eyesight of patients was completely restored.

All examinatio­n and treatment are conducted by Caspian Compassion Project with Azercell’s support. Establishe­d on June 1, 2011, Mobile Eye Clinic is aimed to provide preventive examinatio­n of eye disease and full check-up to children deprived of parental care, the elderly and low-income people.

During 4 years of its operation, the clinic has visited boarding schools and orphanages in Baku, including special boarding school No. 5, SOS Children’s village and “Gunerzi”care center in the region of Agjabadi. Along with Baku, the doctors of the clinics have also travelled to regions.They have been to almost all regions in the country and supported people in need for treatment.
