President Aliyev tours central regions of country

President Ilham Aliyev, who is paying great attention to the development and progress in all regions of the country, has arrived in Tartar and Aghjabadi regions to participate in opening of new infrastructure facilities on November 28.

President Ilham Aliyev, who is paying great attention to the development and progress in all regions of the country, visited Tartar, Aghjabadi and Sabirabad regions on November 28 to participate in opening of new infrastructure facilities.

The head of state was briefed by Head of Tartar Region Executive Power Mustagim Mammadov who noted that the social and economic indicators of the region have improved, many social infrastructure facilities have been built and production facilities have been established.

The President attended the opening of a new building of Tartar Museum of History and Local Lore, the construction of which started last year. The museum features a total of 2,000 exhibits highlighting Azerbaijan’s rich history, traditions and culture.

The head of state then inaugurated the Tartar-Seydimli-GaradaghliSarov highway in the course of his visit.

President Aliyev also viewed conditions created at a newly built residential complex for 1,170 IDP families and visited IDP Pakiza Mammadova’s house.

Deputy Prime Minister, Сhair of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov informed the President that 1,170 apartments occupy a total area of 88,000 square meters.

The new residential complex features all necessary infrastructure facilities, including a school, a kindergarten, a music school, an administrative building, a community club, and medical centers.

The head of state familiarized himself with the 1,200-seat school at the complex, which also features information about the Maragha-150 monument which exposes the territorial claims of the Armenians against Azerbaijan.

After viewing the complex, President Aliyev met with representatives of the region's general public and IDPs.

Ilham Aliyev also viewed conditions created at military unit in Tartar region where he was informed about operational conditions on the frontline by Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.

The next destination within the trip was Aghjabadi, where the President attended the opening of Flag Museum and Museum of History and Local Lore after renovation.

Then, he took part in the inauguration of a newly-built 100-seat orphanage-kindergarten No 4, the construction of which was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The opening of the Aghjabadi Olympic Sports Complex was also held with the participation of the head of state.

Its construction started in June 2012 and ended this November. After familiarizing himself with the complex, President Aliyev met with representatives of the region's public and sportsmen.

As part of his visit to Aghjabadi, President of Azerbaijan, Commanderin-Chief Ilham Aliyev has viewed the conditions created at a military unit of the Ministry of Defense.

He visited the military hostels and viewed the social and living conditions created for personnel.

In the course of his visit, the head of state attended the inauguration of a bread and flour plant.

Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev informed the President that there are more than 160 bread plants in Azerbaijan with 2,200 tons of daily production capacity.

As part of the visit to Sabirabad, the President attended the opening ceremony of Flag Museum, Sabirabad Central Hospital as well as laid the foundation of Sabirabad Industrial District.
