VP of Heydar Aliyev Foundation attends 5th Azerbaijani-Russian Youth Forum
Baku hosted the 5th Azerbaijan-Russia Youth Forum on the topic “The New Generation: Responsibility Without Borders.”
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.
Speaking at the forum, Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov highlighted the state youth policy implemented in Azerbaijan.
The minister noted that important steps were being taken in the country to support the development of youth, protect their health, ensure their education and fruitfulness of their leisure. He spoke upon the State Program "Azerbaijani Youth in 2017-2021", approved by the Order of the Head of State.
Stressing that the Ministry is cooperating with 65 countries around the world, Rahimov said that this year for the first time in an international format a laboratory for training talents among adolescents was organized. Azerbaijan was represented by a large delegation at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.
Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee of Parliament, said the main purpose of the forum was to develop friendly relations and cooperation between young people living in close proximity.
Charge d'Affaires of Russia in Azerbaijan Oleg Murashev noted that the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan were comprehensive. He stressed that working with young people was a priority both in Azerbaijan and in Russia. About 15,000 Azerbaijani citizens had been taking education in Russia.
The current forum is a continuation of the forum that was held in 2011-2012 at the initiative of Azerbaijan in Baku, and then in 2013 in the Russian city of Grozny, “New Generation: Responsibility Without Borders”.
The forum is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia, the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia, the National Council of Youth Organizations (NAYORA) and the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia.
