Azer­bai­jan to jointly pro­duce drones with Is­raeli Aero­nau­tics

Azer­bai­jan De­fense In­dus­try Min­istry and the Is­raeli com­pany Aero­nau­tics signed a Pro­to­col of in­tent on the or­ga­ni­za­tion of joint pro­duc­tion of a new type of un­manned sys­tems on July 11.

The pro­to­col was signed dur­ing the meet­ing in Baku be­tween the Deputy De­fense In­dus­try Min­is­ter of Azer­bai­jan Yahya Musayev and the del­e­ga­tion headed by Aero­nau­tics Chair­man Ye­didia Yaari.

Musayev in­formed the del­e­ga­tion about the ac­tiv­ity of Azer­bai­jan De­fense In­dus­try Min­istry.

The meet­ing also pro­vided in­for­ma­tion on the suc­cess­ful ac­tiv­ity of the joint ven­ture AZAD Sys­tems, which spe­cial­izes in the pro­duc­tion of var­i­ous drones in Azer­bai­jan.

Presently, there are 28 mil­i­tary fac­to­ries op­er­at­ing within the coun­try’s De­fense In­dus­try Min­istry, which man­u­fac­ture UAVs, mor­tars of var­i­ous cal­iber, their am­mu­ni­tion, ma­chine guns, var­i­ous sniper ri­fles of spe­cial pur­pose, ar­mored per­son­nel car­ri­ers, au­to­matic grenade launcher com­plexes, and other weapons and ve­hi­cles.

Azer­bai­jan De­fense In­dus­try Min­istry has al­ready achieved good re­sults in the pro­duc­tion of UAVs. The coun­try's first UAVs Zarba are ca­pa­ble of con­duct­ing re­con­nais­sance flights and de­stroy­ing the en­emy’s man­power and light mil­i­tary ve­hi­cles.

Along with re­con­nais­sance UAVs, the min­istry started the pro­duc­tion of next-gen­er­a­tion UAVs ca­pa­ble of de­stroy­ing the en­emy’s mil­i­tary equip­ment and man­power. More­over, the pro­duc­tion of drones with cu­mu­la­tive war­head will start soon.
