Baku opens di­rect flights to Geneva

AZAL Pres­i­dent Ja­hangir As­garov met with Am­bas­sador of the Swiss Con­fed­er­a­tion to Azer­bai­jan, Philipp Stalder to dis­cuss forth­com­ing launch of di­rect flights be­tween Baku and Geneva sched­uled to start on Septem­ber 30, 2018.

Dur­ing the meet­ing, the sides spoke of is­sues re­lated to the new Baku-Geneva-Baku flights, re­called that both sides al­ready dis­cussed the idea of es­tab­lish­ing di­rect flights at their first en­counter back in 2016

Ja­hangir As­garov said that the flights to Geneva will be car­ried out twice a week - on Tues­days and Fri­days with Air­bus A319 air­craft with im­proved com­fort seats in three ser­vice classes - VIP Club, Busi­ness Class and Econ­omy Class.

In his turn, Philipp Stalder thanked AZAL Pres­i­dent for open­ing the flights to this des­ti­na­tion and ex­pressed will­ing­ness to pro­vide any re­lated sup­port to the Azer­bai­jan Air­lines in pro­mot­ing this flight through its own chan­nels and of­fered a meet­ing be­tween of­fi­cials from Switzer­land’s tourism pro­mo­tion agency ‘Tourism Switzer­land’ and of­fi­cials from Azer­bai­jan.

The par­ties agreed to make joint ef­forts to at­tract pas­sen­gers to this flight and in­crease the tourist flow, as well as came to a de­ci­sion to con­tinue ne­go­ti­a­tions on this is­sue by in­volv­ing of­fi­cials from both coun­tries’ tourism de­part­ments.
