New sports and health center opens in capital

Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov informed the head of state of the conditions created in the center.
The center that attracted attention with its modernity was built in high quality. All the necessary infrastructure was created in a sports complex with a total area of 14,000 square meters.
It was reported that the 1950 spectator seats in the universal lounge can be arranged for different types of sports. Basically, the sports and health club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will operate here. The main focus of the health club is the physical training of military personnel and civil servants of the ministry. In addition, participating in different types of sports competitions in the ministry's departments, the club ensures the participation of national teams, individual athletes, coaches in national and international competitions. The club also organizes sports competitions in line with the activities of firefighters. In recent years, sports and health club members have been making significant successes in various local and international competitions. Every year, the Fighters Contest is organized by the Sports Club. This year, the club's representatives consisted of 8 outsiders and ranked first among 45 teams. In addition, members of the club have successfully participated in up to 20 championships, including world and European championships, as well as in other tournaments. The men's volleyball team of the club successfully took the second place in the Azerbaijani championship.
Sports-Health Center's fitness, gym, judo, boxing, wrestling, karate and taekwondo halls have been created for athletes. The chambers of the trainer have every opportunity to work efficiently. There are perfect conditions for conducting trainings and organizing competitions.
All the conditions were created here for organization of the service at the modern level in the restaurant and in the kitchen, which is included in the Sport-Health Center. There is a swimming pool meeting up-to-date standards. The length of the pool is 25 meters and its width is 12 meters. As many as 120 people will be able to watch swimming competitions in this hall.
Particular attention is paid to the work and sports with young people within the framework of our country's creative work. Mass physical education and sport have become an integral part of society's life. Numerous sports facilities, including Olympic complexes, have been built in different regions of Azerbaijan, and many relevant infrastructures have been reconstructed.
Members of the sports and health club are only employees of the ministry. At present, the club has about 300 members. Members of the club enhance their mastery of judo, wrestling, karate, swimming, gymnastics, taekwondo and other sports. In the future it is planned to increase the number of sports. Wellness and restoration work has been done and greenery has been built in the courtyard of the Sport-Health Center.
The day before President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a newly-built highway linking Baku ring road with Sharifzade Street as well as Yasamal residential complex of the State Housing Construction Agency (MIDA) and viewed conditions created at a newly-reconstructed recreation park in Yeni Yasamal residential area in Baku.
