President: At least 30,000 community works will be created

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was on a trip to Beylagan region on February 13, where he participated in the opening of a number of social and infrastructure facilities.

Addressing the opening of the Olympic Sports Complex in Beylagan, the head of state noted that this is a very significant day for the region.

“The creation of this center is a manifestation of our sports policy, it shows that Azerbaijan is indeed a sports state. We are trying to build modern sports complexes in every region, in every district, so that young people, children and teenagers play sports. We create these conditions. I can say that this Olympic sports complex meets the highest international standards. Our young athletes will train here, compete, thereby increasing the sporting glory of our country,” he said.

Saying that the work in this direction is carried out in all regions, President Aliyev said that two more Olympic centers are expected to open this year.

“That is, the Azerbaijani state conducts its policy in this direction. As a result, our athletes show high results in international competitions, world and European championships, and Olympic games. Every citizen of Azerbaijan is proud of the fact that our athletes are today at the highest peak in the world. This is evidenced by the Olympic Games. At the last summer Olympics, our team took the 14th place in the world by the number of medals. This is a historic victory. Because we are ahead of many developed countries. Our athletes, showing the highest results in the World and European Championships, raise our flag to a height.”

President Aliyev noted that conditions are needed for sports.

“Such conditions are being created. Baku hosts the most prestigious sporting events - European Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, world championships. In the regions, these conditions are created so that athletes and young people go in for sports. I am sure that the residents of the region will also take advantage of these opportunities, because every citizen will become healthier if they go in for sports. After all, sport is a symbol of health. Athletes are healthy both physically and morally. Our athletes show a worthy example both at competitions and in everyday life. We are justly proud of them. Our outstanding athletes, Olympic champions, world champions - one of them is here today - are our pride. They show a great example of youth. Young people should be patriotic, professional, physically strong.”

The President also separately mentioned successful results of Beylagan sportsmen, noting that they brought a lot of medals to Azerbaijan.

“I see that Beylagan sportsmen have a lot of medals. You won them in the competition. Beylagan has a very strong wrestling school. These traditions live and will live. I am sure that Beylagan will continue to train great athletes for our country. And we will try to continue to take the necessary steps for the development of sports. Because sport is a state policy in Azerbaijan. This is noted, highly appreciated, one can say, by all international sports structures. Therefore, the largest international competitions are held in Azerbaijan.

Speaking about diverse development of the region, Ilham Aliyev talked about infrastructural and reconstructive improvements which take place in Beylagan.

“Continuous attention is paid to the development of the Beylagan district, work is being done in this direction, and infrastructure and social projects are being implemented. For example, today the level of gasification in the Beylagan district is 97 percent. In the near future it will reach 100 percent. This is a very high figure, considering that a few years ago gas supply was at a very low level. The new substation, which will start functioning today, will significantly improve the supply of electricity to Beylagan district, and there will be no problems left in this area either," he said.

Today we celebrated the opening of the new road. In the future, work will be carried out in this direction so that the repair, restoration, and construction of rural roads become even wider. To date, several projects have been implemented. They must be implemented on an even wider scale. In 2016, the problem of drinking water was solved in Beylagan. Currently, the process of reconstruction of the sewage system, installation of treatment plants. That is, all major infrastructure projects are being implemented,” the head of state noted.

President Aliyev added that state provides support to entrepreneurship.

“Support is provided to entrepreneurship, loans are provided on concessional terms. Three agro parks have been established in Beylagan. Citizens are working there. Agriculture is developing at the modern level. According to my instructions, paid community works were created in the regions of Azerbaijan. At least 30,000 community works will be created this year. In Baku, major cities, in all districts, including in the Beylagan district, hundreds of paid community works have been created so that citizens who are still unable to find work are involved in this work and receive a salary.”

Then, the President added that social infrastructure is constantly being developed as a part of consistent policy.

“That is, a consistent policy is being applied related to the development of the district. Of course, social infrastructure has also great importance here. As you know, the Central District Hospital with 140 beds has been built in Beylagan district and many schools. Now I have been informed that the school in the village of Dunyamalilar is located in an adapted building. An instruction will be given to build this school. A wonderful Olympic complex, other social facilities have been created, the Youth Center is functioning. In short, the development of the region is complex, and I am sure that the Beylagan district will continue to show high results, and the citizens will build and create here, contribute to our common cause.”

Construction of the complex began in 2018. By orders of President Ilham Aliyev, a total of 17.5 million manats was allocated to continue the construction of the Olympic sports complex. Conducted with high quality construction work completed in February of this year. The complex attracts attention with its modernity. This is the 45th Olympic Sports Complex, which opened in our country.

In the universal gym for 820 seats, it is possible to organize competitions in various sports. The creation of such a complex, enhancing the authority of Azerbaijan as a sports country, plays an important role in encouraging young people living in the regions to go in for sports, identify their potential and ensure the popularity of sports in general.

Halls of the Beylagan Olympic sports complex for table tennis, billiards, oriental martial arts, the gym have all the conditions for athletes. The coaching rooms also have all the conditions for effective work. In the boxing gym there are ideal conditions for training and organizing competitions. Medical control over athletes is organized at a high level. The wrestling hall was built in accordance with the standards of the International Wrestling Federation. To provide high standard trainings for wrestlers, even the most negligible details are taken into account.

The complex has a modern hotel with fifty places, offering every condition for living and recreation of athletes. The hotel has single, double, triple, VIP-rooms and a conference room with 50 seats.

The restaurant and the kitchen, included in the Beylagan Olympic Sports Complex, have all the conditions for the provision services at the highest level.

As part of the visit to the region, the President also attended the opening of Mingachevir-Stansiya Mingachevir-Bahramtapa-Beylagan highway, Museum of History and Local Lore in Beylagan after renovation, newly-renovated Beylagan-1 substation and viewed conditions created at a newly-built military unit of the Defense Ministry.
