DESIGN & BITS
> After Rome, Paris, and Los Angeles, it was Budapest's turn to unveil its graphic identity for its Olympic bid. The bid logo for the Hungarian capital features a triumphant figure surrounded by coloured confetti, which is is said to be based on the Statue of Liberty on Gellert Hill. It was designed by Budapest's Graphasel Design Studio and chosen from nearly 200 entries submitted to the contest. Laszlo Ordogh, the design studio's art director said: "We were thinking about concepts, not just a design" and the aim was to create a "fresh, youthful and lively logo." The announcement to declare the host city for 2024 Olympics and Paralympics will be announced on 13 September 2017.
