Brand of the Year Award BBDO Network of the Year
was honoured with the title of 2016 for the fourth running. The award is presented to the agency network that achieves the most awards and produces the finest caliber of work. In total, 20 global offices earned two Grand Prize Awards, 16 First Prize Awards, 15 Second Prize Awards, 22 Third Prize Awards, and 93 Finalist Awards. In addition, the network was honoured with two UNDPI Finalist Awards. The 115-page booklet guide created and designed by Impact BBDO Dubai was handed it out to existing and prospective Mercedesbenz’s customers. It was designed to talk to both existing and potential customers who shared in the brand’s spirit of adventure. For this, the agency banked on a simple insight: that while the G-class is impervious to everything that nature throws its way, the same could not be said of its drivers in case of a hostile encounter with a remote tribe. Therefore, the Tribal Rapport Field Guide was created to help G-class owners establish an instant rapport with otherwise irate tribes members.
ACTIVATION & ENGAGEMENT: Colenso Bbdo/proximity, New Zealand, “Brewtroleum” for DB Breweries, DB Export.
DB Export, a New Zealand brewery has made fuel from beer. This genius idea from Colenso BBDO was to make a cleaner 98-octane fuel using natural beer waste extracted during the brewing process. DB Export Brewtroleum is a blend of 10 percent refined-ethanol and 90 per cent performance premium petrol. As a result, New Zealanders became the first in the world to power their cars with commercially available biofuel, made from the by-product of beer and turn a man's favorite pastime--drinking beer--into a selfless act of sustainability. Also in a declining market, sales increased by 10% and DB Export became New Zeland’s fastest growing beer brand.
