Joe La Pompe: V for victory and C for creativity
Sometimes a gesture can transcend language and hold a more universal form of communication conveying a message that is more satisfactorily than words. One of such gesture, is the the V hand shape, to represent a "V for Victory." Although the story of the V symbol spans cultures, time zones and decades, the gesture was co-opted by the peace movement and given a meaning makeover and a much broader recognition. The two-finger salute or victory sign is now commonly known as a peace sign. In these 10 distinguished campaigns selected by Joe la Pompe, the sign is used as a main graphic element to convey specific marketing messages. Yet, nowhere the execution and concept are close to being a copycat. Talk about the power of creativity!
