Nadim Zahar: Farewell my friend
Nadim Zahar was a man bigger than life. He was a precious and dear friend. His demise will leave a gap in my life and a great loss to the communication industry that he cherished. His genuine nature was beyond description, his warmth and generosity were legendary. His love for life was manifested in everything he did and left a mark in every deed. Few years ago Nadim, in response to an Arabad questionnaire about the epitaph he preferred, said: “Here lies a king fond of good living.” And in real life he strived to realize good living to his beautiful family and close friends. I consider myself very fortunate to have known Nadim very closely in business, where we had a fruitful and successful relationship and in real life where he was always supportive, helpful and a genuine friend like no other. In addition to his dynamic character, he radiated with a witty and unique sense of humor that was rarely matched. I will always remember his optimism during difficult days and stamina to overcome hurdles. In fact he was an inspiration to many colleagues in our industry. Nadim had the zeal to live and let live and without fail strived to add life to his years, not years to his life. An optimistic by nature, and a hard worker. However, during all the years I have known this warm and dear friend, he was an inspiration, who always saw the glass as half full. Nadim will be missed with scores of friends and relatives as well as many a communication star, but the loss for me will always have a place in my heart. The last time I visited him to see how is he fighting with his sickness, without any hesitation said, I have been very, very busy… being sick.” It is that caliber of men that have become rare by the day. Nadim, my true friend, rest in peace and may grace and patience surround the outstanding Myrna and the beautiful children. People like you my friend leave by body but your soul remains in our minds and heart and hovers over everything you loved. Goodbye my friend, your memory will linger as long as the sun shines.
