MARCH | #Electronicsban

March brought big news for travelers in the region, after the US and UK issued a set of carry-on restrictions regarding airline passengers from eight different Middle Eastern countries including Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and Turkey. The ban, which came in the aftermath of President Trump’s infamous Muslim and was said to apply to all electronic devices that are larger in size than smartphones, namely tablets, laptops, cameras and even potable gaming devices, sparked major uproar among social media users (notably those directly affected by it) who took to twitter to express their indignation. Royal Jordanian Airlines, on the other hand, wittily responded to the ban with a list of things to do on a 12-hour flight with no laptop or tablet, garnering massive social media engagement and international press coverage along the way.
