MOST LIKED TWEET OF 2017

US President Donald Trump may have been the most talked about figure on Twitter and the Internet in 2017 but surprisingly enough (or not), the most liked tweet (and second most retweeted tweet) of 2017 belongs to none but his predecessor, former President Barack Obama, whose August 2017 plea for racial equality following white nationalist violence in Virginia earned over 4.6 million likes in total. Not only that, but three of Obama’s tweets in total made the ‘most retweeted’ list and two appeared on the ‘most liked’ list, confirming Obama’s status as one of the most beloved Twitter personalities (and US Presidents, as some would argue). To put things into a bit of perspective, Obama essentially has more than double the followers Trump has, with each garnering 97.6 million and 44.1 million followers respectively.
