> IKEA Saudi Ara­bia has se­lected Star­com MENA for its me­dia man­date in the King­dom. The Publi­cis me­dia agency will man­age the strate­gic me­dia plan­ning and buy­ing re­spon­si­bil­i­ties for the Swedish re­tailer’s fran­chisee in Saudi Ara­bia. Ed­mond Bouez, Gen­eral Man­ager of Star­com in Jed­dah said, “The se­lec­tion process was a chal­leng­ing one and we are proud to have stood out with our in­no­va­tive of­fer­ing and think­ing and won the ac­count...”

> PHD Le­banon has cel­e­brated its first year an­niver­sary with Huawei’s dig­i­tal port­fo­lio pitch win. Huawei, a net­work client that se­lected PHD Le­banon for its offline me­dia work at the end of last year, re­cently staged a four-way pitch for the dig­i­tal re­mit, which was awarded to PHD. On an­other front, ear­lier in May, Huawei Egypt has con­cluded its three-way review with the ap­point­ment of PHD Egypt as its new agency of record. The full me­dia ac­count is the first win for the me­dia agency’s newly opened Cairo op­er­a­tion.

> Om­ni­com’s PHD has won the global me­dia ac­count for UK fi­nan­cial ser­vices and bank­ing firm HSBC, re­plac­ing WPP’S Mind­share. Es­ti­mates value the ac­count as high as $400 mil­lion per year.
