OVERALL EVALUATION
The standard is getting better year after year, and I was very glad to see such a diversified pool of talents competing in both categories. Multiple crafting and executional techniques were implemented throughout the 160 entries which shows clearly that the contenders took their participation very seriously, especially for such a wide and engaging topic. Tolerance is a subject that’s in the now and can be interpreted in so many ways. The international advertising scene is abundant with case studies and communication platforms that tackled this subject, promoting a more humane, adequate and equal environment for mankind. Trying to encapsulate all this in one poster is such a challenge. The jury was looking for a big idea that stands out, a visual impact that is appropriate for a poster category and an execution that carries the message beautifully to the audience.
ABOUT THE WINNING POSTERS
Work is good overall and differentiating between them was subjective sometimes. Many times we lost track of which entry is submitted by a student and which one is submitted by a professional. I don’t know if this is something good or not for our industry, but one thing is for sure, the newcomers are better than the ones we have today.
