GMAIL CELEBRATES 15TH ANNIVERSARY BY GIFTING USERS NEW FEATURES

-

“We may have launched Gmail on April Fools’ Day, but the last 15 years have been no joke. And we’re looking forward to what’s to come,” Google wrote in a blog post commemorating the 15th anniversary of its beloved email service. Ever since its launch in 2014, Gmail changed the face of email communication by addressing key issues that Internet users were facing at the time. Besides upping the storage limit by nearly 100 times what was available back then, Gmail also grouped messages into conversation threads to make searching your inbox/filtering out spam emails easier. “We built Gmail to address these problems, and it’s grown into a product that 1.5 billion users rely on to get things done every day,” the blog post read. In celebration of this happy occasion, Gmail announced a new set of features such as adding more languages to Smart Compose and bringing the tool to Android and IOS and, guess what, scheduling emails! The last one should come in handy for professionals of all industries, notably when working across different time zones, while predictive text can also be of tremendous help to anyone typing emails from their phone on the go. Sending [because what else can we do] Gmail our warmest wishes and a huge thank you for the birthday gifts [and for always being there for us through thick and thin]!
