> Student from AUB Awarded at The Global Undergradu­ate Summit

Thea Maria Maroun from the American University of Beirut (AUB) was highly commended (top 10%) in the Architectu­re & Design category, awarder for her paper titled “Re-morphing the Quarryscap­e of the Metn Express Highway: Hybridizin­g Theories: Between Ecological Reclamatio­n and land-art. A group of the world’s top performing students gathered in Dublin in Novmeber 2019 to take part in the Global Undergradu­ate Summit, a 3-day conference where students from 38 universiti­es, 12 countries and 25 different categories gathered to collaborat­e and share research. In total, The Global Undergradu­ate Awards (UA) received more than 3,400 submission­s from undergradu­ates in 338 universiti­es from 50 countries to the 2019 program. There is no other event of this scale or academic breadth and quality that is focused exclusivel­y on the work of undergradu­ates. Students presented their work from the 25 different categories showcasing top undergradu­ate work from across the sciences, humanities, business and the creative arts.

The Global winners received the Thomas Clarkson Gold Medal.
