Credit: For corporate defaults, it was a very bad year

Last year was rough for some companies issuing debt and even rougher for many of their creditors. Worldwide corporate defaults almost doubled due to a jump in U.S. nonpayments and reached their highest point since 2009, according to Standard & Poor’s.
