Dileep quizzed again in actor abduction case

Popular Malayalam cine artiste Dileep, who is currently out on bail in the case of abduction and sexual Assault of A MALAYALAM ilm actor in February this year, was questioned by the Kerala police again on Wednesday. A police team led by Circle Inspector Byju Paulose summoned the actor-producer to Aluva Police Club for questioning around 10am. The police have not revealed more details of the interrogation.

According to informed sources, the investigators are trying to verify the actor’s statement that he had not been aware of the incident on Feb.17 night (when the incident took place) as he was admitted in a private hospital in Aluva due to fever from 7.15am on Feb.14 to Feb.21. Police investigators believe that the actor submitted a forged hospital case sheet to prove his argument. The private hospital owner, however, HAD CLARIIED that DILEEP was INDEED admitted for treatment on Feb.14. SIT found Dileep had attended an AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) meeting at DH Ground here on Feb.20 to express solidarity with the victim. Besides, he had returned to the shooting location on Feb.21.
According to police, Dileep harboured a personal grudge against the victim for interfering in his martial life and also attempted to have her sidelined From THE ilm world SINCE 2014. THE victim actor had purportedly passed on unnecessary details about him and his activities to his then-wife Manju Warrier. The police have claimed that a conspiracy to abduct and assault THE Actor In A moving CAR AND ilm the act was hatched by Dileep. By hiring Pulsar Suni for abducting and sexually assaulting the actor, Dileep wanted to settle old scores, say police. The ultimate gain obviously goes to the one who conspired and hired a criminal to commit the heinous crime, police believe.
The High Court had granted Dileep bail on Oct.3 after spending 85 days behind bars in connection with the case.
