EPAA celebrates 46th National Day with poetry, prose and live music
DUBAI: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) celebrated the 46th National Day by organising a series of events starting on Thursday in the Sharjah Natural History and Botanical Museum and Desert Park.
It was attended by the Chairperson of the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, along with directors and staff of government departments, nursing homes, child centers and Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, as well as museum visitors.
The celebration began outside with the national anthem performed by the Military Band, which was followed by music performed by Raaie El-shella Band (New Stars Sponsor Band), in addition to contributions by EPAA’S centers and other bodies. Inside saw participation by poets, storytellers and performers, including poets and musician.
Al Suwaidi, said; “On our 46th National Day, we’d like to extend our congratulations and appreciation to our wise leadership and the Emirati people who, on this occasion, afirm their faithfulness and loyalty to our leadership and our country.
“We would also like to express our happiness and joy at the achievements of our Government that was eficiently and competently formed by our founding fathers. Here we are today, reaping the fruits as the UAE has reached a distinguished position and gained a great international reputation thanks to the efforts and vision of our wise leadership.”
She added that through the celebrations, EPAA “contributes to strengthening patriotism while commemorating the foundation of the UAE.”
The EPAA boss said National Day celebrations will continue until Dec.3 with a programme of activities and events including educational and recreational workshops, games, face painting, and national songs.
