Dubai Police nab killer in 24 hours
A man suspected to have murdered an African woman inside her apartment in Al Baraha over financial disputes was arrested within 24 hours, Dubai Police announced on Thursday.
Police managed to solve the mystery behind the murder. The Asian man, 32, who resides in the UAE, was found to have murdered the female visitor to rob her, in revenge for the financial grudges.
“The command and control room received an alert about a dead woman,” said the Dubai Police Assistant Commander-in-chief for Criminal Investigation, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri.
“Police dispatched security patrols and investigation teams to the scene. Preliminary inspection of the body showed that there was a criminal motive behind her death,” Al Mansouri explained.

“Investigators discovered there were inancial disputes that prompted the man to fatally strangle her inside her apartment’s bathroom. He decamped with her mobile and purse to an unknown location.”
The Director of CID at Dubai Police, Lt Colonel Adel Al Joker said the Dubai Police General Command assigned all its ield teams to intensify the search and identify the suspect quickly. With the use of modern criminal pursuit techniques at the data analysis centre, the teams identiied him and his nationality in a record time.
They nabbed him inside his hideout in one of the emirates.
During interrogations he reportedly confessed to have escorted the woman to her apartment, discussed with her the inancial misunderstanding and they disputed. He strangled and robbed her.
Al Mansouri appreciated the Dubai Police Commander-in-chief Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri for following up with all cases that pose security threats and for his instructions in this regard. He reiterated Dubai Police’s readiness to deal with any incident at all times with utmost accuracy and professionalism and apprehend anyone who breaches people’s safety and the country’s security.
The case has been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further procedures and investigations. Al Joker applauded the data analysis centre’s relentless efforts and modern techniques.
“The centre’s techniques helped identify the suspect and thus contributed to his speedy arrest and revelation of the details and circumstances of the murder and its motives,” he stressed.
