Experts from different ields of technology and education have termed the rapid change of technology in our lives as a signiicant shift of behaviour, lifestyle and learning. They termed data as a new oil and new currency resulting in technological upgradation around the world.
The experts were taking part in the 2nd panel discussion ‘Technology of Today, Lifestyle of Tomorrow’ organised by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) at the Modul University, Dubai. The event was organised in association with the Arabia CSR Network, Emirates Green Building Council, Clean Energy Business Council and with strategic support from the United Nations Environment Programme.
The principal aim of the event was to highlight the nexus between Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development, and to shed light on how technology trends are changing our lifestyles for the future within the realms of innovative education, smart homes and smart energy.
The meaningful dialogue between industry leaders on the current technological advancements reinforced the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed’s vision of the future and his strong concern for scientific research and knowledgable youth. It further supported the recent adoption of the “Council for Artificial Intelligence” by the UAE Cabinet and the launch of the “UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence” and the “UAE Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, which demonstrate the country’s active role at addressing the paradigm shift towards innovative work environments and development projects that would impact future services, sectors and infrastructure projects.
Habiba Al Mara’shi, Chairperson of the EEG and President and CEO of the Arabia CSR Network, in her address said, “Technologies are now combining new ways of improving performance and productivity, offering benefits as well as challenges to which we must respond.”
She continued, “Leaders in both public and private sectors must acknowledge the transformation and the implications of rapid technological change, ine-tuning organisational strategies in the face of continuous evolution.”
