ON THE OTHER SIDE

-

SOMETIMES I wonder what life would be like if we were on the other side of the coin. This thought zipped across my mind when i saw a video of an old doctor addressing a group of people in a gathering about the relationship between a doctor and a patient.

He starts of saying that the relationship between a patient and a doctor is a very unique one, one that depends wholly on the core of the relationship between the both which is absolute trust.

The patient walks in with trust on the doctor to do his best to cure him. But from his point of view he emphasises that the doctors job is to feel the pain of the patient, make him comfortable and dress the wound. The healing, he stresses, is only a miracle of the Almighty. How true.

He goes on to say that no doctor has ever discovered the reality and basis of healing, which till date remains a mystery.

The doctor also explains how important it is to dress well and be presentable but not over dress. To strike a balance in ones dressing so as to not intimidate a patient from being comfortable to share his feelings.

One more important thing as mentioned by him is the point that before a doctor decides to work on a wounded patient, he should stop and thank God that he is safe and has given him the ability to cure someones illness, because if not for the Almightys will, the doctor could have been the patient.
