UAE loats HUGE KERALA RELIEF plan

ABU DHABI: Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future of the United Arab Emirates, telephoned the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, and conveyed the condolence­s on behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as of the Government and people of the UAE, for the victims of the floods in Kerala. Al Gergawi wished all those injured a speedy recovery.

Al Gergawi additional­ly discussed the relief requiremen­ts of the state with Vijayan.

He said that the directives of Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Mohammed, were to provide all forms of support for those affected in Kerala and to unite all efforts in the country towards relief and aid operations.

Plans are also underway to support the Indian government in its endeavors to contain the disaster and help all the victims of the natural disaster, in the spirit of the brotherly and historical ties between the two countries.

Sheikh Khalifa on Friday directed the formation of an urgent national committee chaired by the Emirates Red Crescent Society and humanitari­an organisati­ons in the country, with the help of the Indian Community In THE UAE to AID THE lood victims in Kerala.

Several humanitari­an organisati­ons immediatel­y responded to the President’s directives, along with many private sector institutio­ns operating in the country.
