Residents make a dash for last-minute Eid shopping

- BY JAMIL KHAN

SHARJAH: Residents from families with young children and individuals from all backgrounds who aim to celebrate the upcoming Eid Al Adha with full spirit have been rushing shopping malls to finish their lastminute shopping.

Eid Al Adha is one of the major events of the Islamic calendar that falls every year on Zul Hajj 10. The faithful, besides obliging the religious ritual – sacrificing an animal to follow the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim AS – also buy new clothes, associated accessories and household items to celebrate the event.

Since the announcing of sighting the Zul Hajj moon last week, residents have been flocking to all leading shopping malls; shops selling designer clothes, shoes and fashion accessories are seen packed with families.

The prominent shopping destinations from major malls to markets across the emirates in Sharjah and Dubai are witnessing an increasing number of residents especially in the evenings.

Sameer Mandhro, while talking to The Gulf Today, said that the best places are malls where one can fulfil his or her need under one roof. “For families the major malls are like a great relief where one can spend time from shopping to dining, watching the latest movie to providing gaming activities to young kids,” he said.

However, Ascia Al Faraj, a well-known Kuwaiti blogger, recently enthralled a large number of visitors with her presence at the opening of the fashion brand, Eleganza, in City Centre Mirdif and also took the opportunity to chat, pose for selfies and interact on latest fashion trends with the bloggers.

Omar Tahan, Creative Director of Eleganza, said that “Eleganza is an elegant brand for stylish women of all ages. It has established and grown in Turkey and pioneering to the whole world thanks to its excellent policy, strategy and marketing and its highend quality and unbeatable price. We are providing a fashion solution for all occasions from Eid to family gatherings happening throughout the year.”
