Dubai Police launch intercom for People of Determination
DUBAI: In line with the national policy of empowering People of Determination, dubai police launched an intercom service in Al Rifa’a Police Station’s parking lot, police announced on Friday.
The special conversation device called the “PWD assistance pad” was launched by the Dubai Police Assistant Commander in Chief of Criminal Investigations, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri.
A client among people of determination can easily talk to an employee in the police station’s customer happiness section and request for a service without getting off his or her car to enter the police station.
Also, the customer happiness section’s employee can provide the necessary assistance in their entry process into the police station whenever required, explained Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri.
The step is in line with the generous “My Community is a Place for All” initiative of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
“The initiative aims to transform Dubai into a friendly city for the People of Determination by 2020, by supporting and strengthening the current efforts of the Emirate in empowering them,” said Al Mansouri.
He stressed the keenness of the Dubai Police General Command to contribute to the category’s wellbeing based on UAE’S interest in them in various life and community aspects guaranteeing their human rights.
“Promoting services for the category of people with special needs is a joint responsibility of all individuals and institutions,” Al Mansouri explained before a team of high-ranking police oficers.
For his part, the police station director Brigadier Ahmed Thani Bin Ghulaita said that Dubai Police’s interest in people of determination comes from a humanitarian, educational, social and cultural perspective.
“This interest is no longer under the umbrella of mercy, kindness and compassion as it is thought to be, but because they are capable people and have the potential of any healthy human,” stressed Bin Ghulaita.
“We have to give them the opportunity to succeed and compete with healthy people in all ields,” he urged and underlined the police station’s keenness to overcome all dificulties and facilitate procedures, especially for the people of determination, in order for them to receive decent services and achieve their requests with ease.
Nasser Al Nourani from the Dubai Police Community Happiness Department said, “Such supportive initiatives open new horizons and strengthen links and strategic partnership between the society’s institutions and this category.”
